CURONIAN SPIT
Curonian Spit National Park is designated by UNESCO as the World Heritage Site. The park has a special 51-kilometer-long bike track, which starts in Nida and runs through Preila, Pervalka and Juodkrante, ending in Smiltyne.
The trips along the Curonian Spit are relaxing, safe and easy. All bike tracks are paved and separated from the main roads; they wind through forests crossing the most beautiful places of the park and visiting the small towns.
The route is clearly marked. There are no steep hills, and the rest places as well as viewpoints are plentiful, which makes this track suitable even for beginner cyclists or families with children.

Short routes in Nida
Romantic Seaside
The track length is about 2,8 km: the sports school – harbour of Nida – fishing port – the seaside track ends on the street of Purvynė.
Tips: the track is not complicated and it is flat and even. This bicycle track is suitable for families with children (4 playgrounds for kids are equipped by the seaside and numerous catering facilities available).
Sightseeing attraction on the route include Ethnographic fisherman’s homestead, V. and K. Mizgiriai Amber gallery, Hermann Blode Museum, Museum of the History of Neringa, Thomas Mann house.
The Great Round
The track length is about 5,5 km: Square of Neringa Municipality – the route continues alongside the Taikos Street towards the sea – then the seaside ride leads to the hotel “Litorina” – riding back by the street of Kuvert.
Tips: the route includes 2 hills to overcome, part of the track runs alongside the seashore, so the trip may include bathing in the sea. In addition, a couple of tennis courts are on the route.
Sightseeing attractions on the route include the cemetery of foresters (memorial grave of G.D. Kuvert).
Hilly Nida
The track length is about 4,8 km: the centre of Nida township – the lighthouse on Urbas Hill (the track runs alongside the hotel “Linėja”) – panoramic viewing ground on Parnidis Dune – riding back to the centre of Nida township.
Tips: the track is hilly, there are 3 major hills, the route, however, offers visiting the main observation sites of Nida.
Sightseeing attractions on the route include the lighthouse on Urbas Hill and panoramic viewing ground on Parnidis Dune.
Long routes on the Curonian Spit
1.The centre of Nida – Preila (9 km).
Take a ride on the route starting at the centre of Nida and running along the shore of the Curonian Lagoon until the end of the route, then going by the street of Purvynės you will reach the bicycle track. There are two rest sites equipped on the way to Preila, one resting area includes the view on Vecekrugas Dune, and the cycle route ends in the vicinity of the Preila Bay.
Sightseeing highlights on the route include Vecekrugas Dune, the old school of Preila and ethnographic graveyard of Preila.
2. Nida-Preila-Pervalka (14,5 km)
Follow the tips related to track 1 when riding to Preila. Once you have passed by the settlement of Preila, the bicycle track starts leading to Pervalka. There are 4 stop over areas on the Preila-Pervalka cycling route.
Sightseeing highlights on the route include Vecekrugas Dune, the old school of Preila, the ethnographic graveyard of Preila and Karvaičiai hill.
3. Nida-Preila-Pervalka-Juodkrantė (31 km)
Follow the tips related to track 2 when riding to Pervalka. In the southern part of Pervalka the bicycle track keeps running through a pinewood until the sightseeing path on the Dead Dunes. Then you cross the highroad from Klaipėda to Nida and ride deeper into the wood for the distance of 400 metres. Further the cycle track runs via Nagliai Nature Reserve (access for visitors is restricted to the sightseeing path, at the point of 32 km of the road Smiltynė-Nida), by the information stand you leave this cycling track and continue your trip on the bicycle route running alongside the seashore which leads you to Juodkrantė.

4. The Tour through the Curonian Spit (52 km)
(Nida-Preila-Pervalka- Juodkrantė - Smiltynė).
Follow the tips recommended for tracks 1, 2 and 3 until you reach Juodkrantė. Following the visit to the settlement of Juodkrantė, you may continue riding on the cycle trail leading towards Smiltynė, and then the track runs along the old post service road and reaches the highroad from Klaipėda to Nida; at this point you turn deeper into the wood towards the sea. At the Meška (Bear) Ravine the road runs in-between the seaside wood and the protective dune, this way will lead you to Smiltynė.
